Connection methods for steel wire mesh reinforced polyethylene composite pipes used in coal mines

Common connection methods for steel wire mesh reinforced polyethylene composite pipes used in coal mines include electrofusion connection, flange connection, clamp-type quick coupling connection, slip-on flange-type quick coupling connection, and plate-type necked flange-type quick coupling connection. The following is a detailed introduction to these connection methods:

Electrofusion Connection:

Principle: The composite pipe is inserted into the electrofusion fitting, and an electric heating wire embedded in the inner surface of the fitting is energized to heat it. This first melts the inner surface of the fitting, producing a molten body. The molten body expands and fills the gap between the pipe and fitting until the pipe...Melted material also forms on the outer surface, and the two melts fuse together. After cooling and solidification, the pipe and fitting are tightly connected as one unit. Advantages: High connection strength, good sealing, suitable for pipe connections of various specifications. Key operating points: Cut the pipe vertically to ensure sufficient heat fusion zone; grind off the oxide layer at the joint, remove dirt after grinding, mark the depth lines, and prepare for sleeve installation; sleeve installation: fit the pipe to the specified scale, and then weld it in place; alignment: ensure the pipe and fitting are on the same axis to avoid misalignment;Electrified welding must strictly adhere to the specified energizing time and voltage parameters; cooling is required after welding, and the clamps must remain locked and not moved, allowing for natural cooling. Flange connection: Principle: Two pipes are fixed to two flanges respectively, with a flange gasket placed between the two flanges, and then the two flanges are tightened with bolts to connect them. Advantages: Convenient connection, suitable for piping systems that require frequent disassembly or maintenance. Key operating points: When connecting the flange and the pipe, their centers must be on the same horizontal plane. And the flange sealing surface and the center of the pipe must be perpendicular; use flange gaskets, and select the same gasket for flanges of the same pipe and pressure; before connecting the flange, ensure that the sealing surface is smooth and free of burrs, the threads are complete and undamaged, the gasket surface is free of defects, the flange needs to be cleaned of debris before assembly, and the sealing line is removed; when assembling the flange, ensure that the center of the pipe is perpendicular to the sealing surface, and bolts of the same specification are installed in the same direction. If the flange needs to be buried underground, anti-corrosion treatment must be done in advance.

Clamp-type quick coupling connection:

Principle:The clamp-type quick coupling is pressed onto both ends of the wire mesh reinforced pipe, and then connected using flexible grooved fittings. Advantages: Fast connection speed, simple operation, suitable for applications requiring rapid installation. Loose flange type quick coupling connection: Principle: The loose flange type quick coupling is pressed onto both ends of the wire mesh reinforced pipe, sealed with rubber gaskets, and the flange is evenly tightened with bolts during connection. Advantages: Combines the advantages of flange connections and quick couplings, ensuring both connection strength and speed.Plate-type flanged quick coupling connection: The steel wire mesh reinforced pipe has flanged quick couplings at both ends, giving it both the flexibility of plastic pipes and the rigidity of steel pipe joints. Simply tighten the flanges evenly with bolts during connection. Advantages: Suitable for applications requiring high pipe rigidity and sealing.
