PE pipe construction encompasses trench excavation, pipe connection, installation, backfilling and protection, and pressure testing and cleaning. Appropriate connection methods must be selected based on project requirements, and the construction quality of each stage must be strictly controlled. I. Pipe Trench Excavation and PreparationExcavation Requirements:
Pipe trench excavation should preferably be in a straight line. The trench bottom excavation width is usually DN (nominal pipe diameter) + 0.30m. If the pipe needs to be connected underground, the trench bottom width at the joint should be appropriately increased, and should not be less than DN + 0.50m, to facilitate installation and connection.
When laying pipes, the minimum soil cover depth above the pipe should meet the requirements of…Design requirements. Generally, when buried under a roadway, the depth should not be less than 0.80m; when buried under a sidewalk, the depth should not be less than 0.60m. If the design depth cannot be reached when crossing a roadway, steel sleeves should be laid for protection. When the pipe trench turns, the turning angle should not be too large, and the bending radius should meet the regulations. For example, the allowable bending radius R (mm) of PE pipes varies depending on the pipe diameter D (mm), such as R=30D when D≤50; R=50D when 50
